Our school is an educational entity which integrates teaching and studying, computer aided design, new material development, appraisal, production and after sale service. The President of Shishi Institute of Fashion Design and Technology, who was compiled in the Dictionary of Excellence for the World Experts, is a council member and researcher of the World Culture and Art Research Center. We employed renowned experts of Asia-Pacific costumes and school heads, Mr.Cai Juncai, Mr.Feng Yi, Mr.Xie Liang, Mr.Ling Dingyuan as our visiting professors. As the cradle of Chinese fashion designers, Shishi Institute of Fashion Design and Technology, approved by Article No.11 of the provincial government in 1995, aims at training talents of fashion design and its related subjects at medium and advanced levels. Adjacent to the Governmental Square, occupying a space of more than 13,333 square meters, of which 10,000 square meters are construction space, our school boasts of a beautiful campus environment divided into four areas, i.e. educational area, Short-term Training area, practice area and living area. After completion of all the required courses, students become specialists with comprehensive abilities known as the Four Masters, i.e. master of manufacture, design, management and sales. Approved by the Fujian provincial government, Shishi Fashion Design Technology Appraisal Station was established to set examinations for students, who pass required examinations receive diploma recognized at home and abroad and Occupation Qualification Certificate issued by the Chinese government. Students who are sent to Hong Kong Institute of Fashion Design and pass required examinations receive Midlevel Specialized Secondary School Diploma issued by the institute with international recognition. Equipped with American PGM, Japanese NAC 2000 and Chinese Silk Road 2000 systems as well as modern computer classrooms and fully equipped factories for internship, our school boasts of an excellent faculty team, which combines theory with practice and consists of two professors, five senior engineers, two fashion designers, fifteen teachers with bachelor degree and eighteen teachers with upper-level specialized college degree. To enhance teaching and research levels, Fashion Design Research Center was established. In order to cultivate all rounded fashion designers, we focus on three points known as the Three Combines, i.e. combining theory study with practice, combining school education with industrial production and combing education and production with research. We steadfastly carry out the important thoughts of 16th National Congress of Communist Party of China. In our eight-year history, we have received firm support and care from governments at all levels and people from all walks of life. With graduates exceeding 6600 and high employment rate, we have set a successful example of student supply exceeding demand and have got favorable comments from work unites where our graduates work. By now our graduates have spread over fashion industries worldwide. Besides, the Hope Project Foundation was established to provide tuition reduction and scholarships to three good students (good in study, attitude and health) and poor students. What’s more, we are planning to establish an upper-level specialized college of fashion design. Starting from 1997, we have accepted students from Anhui province, Xiangxi province and northern part of Fujian province. We enhance complementary advantages of several provinces through cooperation between the mountain and sea areas where our students come from. Of the thousands of aspiring graduates, many receive favorable comments from their work unites. According to the market statistics, the golden delta at the southern Fujian province is in short of 100,000 technical specialists every year.
